"Beers and Burgers, Made with Love"

Nestled away amongst the shopfronts on the bustling main street of the Victorian country town, Healesville, you will come across a gigantic American-styled sign.

Feeling brave? Ask for Carolina Reaper chilli's
on your burger - the world's hottest chilli

Monroe’s Burgers and Beers was co-founded in 2016 by burger-lovers Paul Stephens and Gary Bright. Over a few beers, the pair came to the realization that there were no similar offerings in the region… and let’s just say that this joint is no McDonalds. But to be honest, comparing this restaurant to any fast-food burger chain is quite frankly a disservice to the absolute craft these blokes call burger-making.

Sourcing their beef from locally grown cuts, the quality in their meat is emphasized through their perfectly grilled patties. Keeping with the local crafts, their beer and cider are also obtained from only the best Yarra Valley breweries.

Upon entering their doors, all the senses are touched from the welcoming atmosphere, the hustling sounds of restaurant goers, to the mouthwatering smells of gourmet burgers being prepared.

Monroe’s Burgers and Beers offers a wonderful family dining experience, with 13 different themed burgers on their menu (including options just for kids and highchairs available). Let’s talk about the Dirty South Burger with “fresh ground prime beef, southern fried chicken breast, double cheddar cheese, streaky bacon, Alabama white sauce, southern style barbeque sauce and spicy pickles”. Need we say more?

TIP: Ask the wonderful staff what the weekly special is. These can include mac ‘n cheese, sprinkled donuts or mi goreng inside a burger – Monroe’s update the specials weekly with fresh and mouth-watering options to choose from!

All menu items are capable of being ‘hacked’ with avocado, five different types of cheese, a range of veggies and five different types of meat on offer. An incredible array of fries are available, including: cheeseburger fries, Notorious P.I.G fries, shoestring fries, beer battered thick cut chips and three cheese and truffle fries. .

RECOMMENDATION: Be adventurous and ask
for a burger which replaces the bun with donuts.

Living, working and serving by the motto of “beers and burgers, made with love”, the small business has recently opened a new restaurant in St Kilda, Melbourne such has the surge of success in Healesville been.
